FBIDCAAA Fundraiser for Human Trafficking
November 19, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Michigan is ranked in the top ten states for human trafficking. According to the State of Michigan, human trafficking is commonly regarded as the second largest criminal enterprise and affects every community in Michigan across age, gender, ethnicity and socio-economic backgrounds. Sadly, 71% of the victims are women and girls.
The FBI Detroit Chapter of the Citizens Academy Alumni Association is bringing together both members and other supporters who want to raise funds to fight human trafficking and help its survivors. Funds from this event will benefit Sanctum House, a safe home for women 18 years of age and older, who are survivors of human trafficking seeking to heal and rebuild their lives. The FBIDCAAA is committed to working with local agencies and the FBI to do our part to educate and bring awareness to this global issue.
Featured panelists will include:
Samantha, a Survivor Leader, who will tell her story from slavery to freedom, and discuss her courage in healing and rebuilding her life.
Karen Moore, Executive Director of Sanctum House, a sanctuary for women survivors of human trafficking.
Melissa Novock, FBI - Victim Specialist
We would like you to be a part of this compelling event by participating in-person. This will be a great opportunity to see how funds raised directly help survivors. From a life that may have looked like there was no future, Sanctum House residents receive services and experiences that help them create a life of vibrance and success.
There will be appetizers and beverages offered at the beautiful Red Run Golf Club, Royal Oak.
The FBIDCAAA is separate and apart from the FBI and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. As such, all donations are tax deductible.
